Oval upholstery and seat cushions made to measure

Oval seating surfaces look soft and generous, but require a contour that precisely accommodates both of their axes. A custom-made oval seat cushion is therefore manufactured based on your desired total length, total width, and height (upholstery thickness).

A UNIPOLSTR in an oval or elliptical shape consists of a custom-cut foam core and a matching UNICOVR cover. This provides you with a complete oval cushion that can be produced for stools, benches, niches, boats, or individual pieces of furniture.

Have an elliptical cushion custom-made

For a symmetrical oval, the long and short axes are crucial. Measure both values through the center of the seat from outer edge to outer edge. In addition, determine the height of the cushion.

If the contour deviates from a regular ellipse, for example due to a flattened side or varying curves, a special shape based on a sketch is the better choice. This keeps the form clearly distinct from a custom-made round seat cushion.

Oval seat cushions are suitable for elongated stools, curved benches, bay windows, boat seats, and DIY seating platforms. Even on an oval chest or an organically shaped shelf, a custom-made cushion can transform previously unused space into a comfortable seat.

Manufacturing to your requested dimensions prevents a round cushion from being too short or a rectangular cushion from visibly protruding at the ends.

The UNICOVR cover for your UNIPOLSTR is removable, washable, waterproof, UV-resistant, and easy to care for. This makes the oval seat cushion suitable for both indoor spaces and protected or open outdoor areas.

For the longest possible service life, the cushion should be stored in a dry and protected place during longer periods of non-use.

Measuring an oval cushion correctly

First, mark the center point of the surface. Then measure the maximum length and maximum width across this point. Check both axes a second time and take into account limitations such as backrests, frames, or side panels.

If you are unsure about the basic shape, compare the oval with our general custom-made seat cushions and pads. Significantly flattened or irregular contours belong in the free-form category.
