Custom-made special and free-form cushions

Some seat surfaces cannot be reasonably described as a rectangle, circle, or trapezoid. They have multiple corners, varying radii, slanted sides, or cutouts for posts, armrests, and built-in components. For precisely such projects, we manufacture your UNIPOLSTR as a special shape according to your sketch.

You will receive a complete cushion with an individually cut foam core and a matching UNICOVR cover. The contour is verified based on your clear dimensions or a suitable template and implemented as a custom-made, one-off product.

Manufacturing free-form cushions individually according to a sketch

A good drawing shows the complete contour from a top-down perspective. Mark all outer edges, inner edges, cutouts, angles, and radii. Furthermore, clearly mark which side is the front, back, left, and right.

For complex curves, a template can be more helpful than a pure dimensional drawing. It is important that the final shape remains clearly reproducible.

Cushions with cutouts for posts and built-in components

Cutouts are required, for example, when a seat surface is guided around a post, column, railing, armrest, or furniture cutout. U-shapes, offset corners, and internal angles can also be described as free forms.

Measure not only the size of the cutout but also its exact position relative to the outer edges. A small safety margin may be sensible depending on the installation situation.

Pentagons, hexagons, and other special shapes

Pentagonal, hexagonal, or octagonal cushions are also part of this offer. Other examples include cushions with beveled corners, asymmetrical trapezoids, organic curves, U-shapes, polygons, and combinations of straight and curved edges.

For clearly defined standard contours, you can directly select our custom-made seat cushions and pads or the page for custom-made round cushions. This keeps the order simpler and makes the required dimensions immediately understandable.

Custom production for indoor and outdoor use

A free-form UNIPOLSTR is suitable for living areas, garden furniture, boats, campers, seating nooks, windowsills, and individual commercial projects. The cover is removable, washable, waterproof, UV-resistant, and easy to care for.

The desired cushion thickness is determined according to the application and influences seat height, comfort, and visual impact.

How to prepare your free-form

First, create a scale sketch or a full-size template. Check all dimensions directly at the intended location and label visible and adjacent sides. If there are multiple parts, number the individual cushions clearly.

The more accurate the template, the better the custom-made product can be adapted to your surface. We will coordinate any unclear or contradictory information with you before production.

Free-form does not mean arbitrary, but rather manufactured precisely to your contour. This way, even awkward, asymmetrical, or recessed areas can be sensibly upholstered and integrated into your project design.
