A sunny entrance heats up the door leaf and forecourt; in front of a practice, office, or residential building, a sheltered waiting area is also often missing. Do not place water drainage in front of the threshold
If waterproof polyester is intended to catch a shower, it needs a slope. The low edge must not drain over a step, ramp, or door threshold. For pure sun protection, HDPE offers a lighter, air-permeable effect; rain then passes through the fabric.

Plan access paths and head clearance consistently
Posts and tensioning parts belong outside the direct walking and maneuvering line. Take into account strollers, walkers, bicycles, and delivery traffic. The lower edge must also provide sufficient head clearance at the lowest point.

- Keep the doorbell, light, and house number visible
- Plan the deep drainage edge away from thresholds and ramps
- Place posts outside daily movement routes
